Alpine skiing: German quartet takes third place in Are team competition

The German ski racers reached the podium in the team competition in Are, Sweden. Marina Wallner (Inzell), Alexander Schmid (Fischen), Lena Dürr (Germering) and Linus Straßer (Munich) won the duel for third place against Austria (2:2) by the time rule. Dürr and Straßer prevailed in their duels.

The quartet, who were eliminated in the quarter-finals at the Olympic premiere of the format in Pyeongchang, had not given Italy a 4-0 chance.

Sweden were too strong in the semi-finals (1:3). The hosts secured the World Cup victory in the final against France (3:1). Olympic champion Switzerland had failed in the quarter-finals due to Sweden.
