Ski Alpin: Hirscher also wins RTL from Aare
Marcel Hirscher also finished the last giant slalom at the World Cup final in Aare as he mostly finished the races of this discipline in winter 2017/18: with a victory.
In the first run, a shot almost knocked the Salzburg man out of the race and the associated loss of time meant that Hirscher”only” took a half second lead into the second run.
In the same race, the World Cup winner once again returned home in first place and finally triumphed once again ahead of Henrik Kristoffersen (+0.23) and Victor Muffat-Jeandet (+0.26).
Hirscher was able to win almost every giant slalom this season. He has been on the top step six times and has also won the Olympic RTL. Apart from Hirscher, only Alexis Pinturault could win in this discipline in Val d’Isere.
At the same time, it is Hirscher’s 13th. Victory this season, setting a new record for Hermann Maier and Ingemar Stenmark. In the slalom on Sunday he can still make himself the sole record holder with victory no. 14.
