SKi Alpin: Marcel Hirscher extends with supplier Atomic
The course is set by ski racer Marcel Hirscher for the continuation of his career. The seven-time overall World Cup winner and his ski company Atomic have extended their contract for two years until 2020, “Never change a winning team”, the 29-year-old posted on Twitter.
The US-American Mikaela Skiffrin and the Altenmarkt-based company also remain a team.
“For us it feels like a gold medal that the two most successful protagonists of our sport remain loyal to us. No haggling, no tactical maneuvers.
It looks like both sides know what they have in common,” said Global Race Manager Christian Höflehner.
“Marcel, of course, has the freedom to change his mind at any time. However, I see the fact that it was important to him to get everything done before his heli-skiing trip to Canada as a strong indication of a continuation of his career,” Höflehner added.
Hirscher’s longstanding co-serviceman Johann Strobl joins Shiffrin, whose current supervisor Kim Erlandsson joins Marco Schwarz.
