Tobogganing: Angela Merkel patron of the World Tobogganing Championships in Winterberg

Angela Merkel becomes patron of the 48. Tobogganing World Championships from 25. till 27. January 2019 in Winterberg.

“The Federal Chancellor was very pleased to accept our invitation and is looking forward to it. Their patronage is a great honour for us and means a special appreciation of the World Championships”, explained co-organiser Stephan Pieper.

Whether the Chancellor will also come to Winterberg has not yet been determined: “That depends on the schedule in January 2019. Therefore, there can be no promise yet,” said Pieper.

Angela Merkel was already patron of the 2015 Bobsleigh and Skeleton World Championships in Winterberg. At that time she could not come to Sauerland due to other important dates.
