Alpine Skiing: Neureuther takes Hirscher on the shovel
Austria’s favourite German sportsman Felix Neureuther talks about his own future and that of his friend Marcel Hirscher during a World Cup talk in the Salzburger Nachrichten. Not without making a few smirkers smile.
Because the newly wed Hirscher, who will also be allowed to call himself Papa Hirscher in the future, still made no announcement about his sporting future. Favourite opponent Neureuther speaks into his conscience: “Marcel, keep going! Otherwise it gets boring. It’s always nicer when he goes with you and you can beat him.”
The 34-year-old unpacks the fine blade again with a wink: “Marcel can do nothing but ski. He himself is working feverishly on his comeback after his cruciate ligament rupture and has not given up his career yet: “It’s going well, but it’s still taking a while. But I think I still have a little time. The first race is at the end of October.”
