Alpine Skiing: Marcel Hirscher is back: anticipation of the Ski World Cup rises
Austria’s ski superstar Marcel Hirscher is already eagerly awaiting the start of the Alpine World Cup in Sölden on 28 October. “I’m in Pitztal, and snow training has started again. The record winner of the overall World Cup wrote on his Facebook page on Wednesday: “It will be 46 days and I’m really looking forward to it.
Last winter the 29-year-old from Salzburg delivered his best season so far with 13 World Cup victories, two Olympic gold medals (combination and giant slalom), the big and two small crystal balls (for the slalom and giant slalom World Cup).
In June Hirscher married his longtime partner Laura Moisl. The couple is now expecting their first child in the coming days.
The seven-time overall World Cup winner wants to comment on his goals for the upcoming season with the World Championships in Aare (5 to 17 February 2019) next week.
