Basketball: Henrik Rödl new national basketball coach
Henrik Rödl is the new national coach.As expected, Chris Fleming’s previous assistant will inherit the US-American, who had retired after the European Championship.This was announced by the DBB on Monday without giving details of the contract term.

Rödl (48) was a member of the 1993 European championship team and won bronze medal in 2002 alongside Dirk Nowitzki in Indianapolis.Born in Offenbach, he became a professional with Alba Berlin seven times in a row.Prior to that, Rödl had played in the USA for four years and won the college title with the University of North Carolina.
As coach, Rödl Alba Berlin led to cup victory in 2006.Later, the 178-times international player looked after Bundesliga club TBB Trier (2010-2015), and since January 2016, the former A2 national coach Fleming’s assistant has been on the A-Team.
