MLB: Severino starts against Kepler’s Twins on Wednesday
Luis Severino’s launch was brought forward by the New York Yankees by two days. The pitcher will start on Wednesday against the Minnesota Twins, said manager Joe Girardi.
The Yankees want to give Severino three more starts in the regular season, in the attempt to pass the Boston Red Sox in the AL East.
“Our goal is to win the division,”Girardi said on Tuesday,”We haven’t achieved anything yet, on the contrary, we still have a lot of work to do.”
Severino was originally scheduled for Friday’s game at the Toronto Blue Jays. The rotation will now launch Masahiro Tanaka in Canada.
For Severino, the next start can’t be early enough:”If I could pick it out, I’d be pitching already tomorrow” Severino hasn’t played against the Twins yet, but is confident,”I recognize their weakness, let’s see what I can do with their lineup,”said Severino.
