Michael Hayböck, double national champion, sustained an injury to his left ankle just five weeks before the World Cup season opener in ski jumping.The Upper Austrian over-ankles during a training course in Cyprus with a stair running unit, there is suspicion of a torn ligament.It is not yet clear how long Hayböck will be down.

The 26-year-old, well supplied with physiotherapy by the traveling medical department,”I will now stay here in Cyprus and work actively on my rehabilitation.Of course, the timing is just not right, but it’s probably never a good time for an injury anyway,”Hayböck was quoted in a broadcast.
