BBL: Bayern Munich wins at the last second – Ulm still in crisis

Bayern Munich keeps in touch with the front runner Alba Berlin after a nervous victory at the last second, while Vice Champion ratiopharm Ulm is still in crisis. While the Germans secured their fifth victory at the Bremerhaven Polar Bears with 85:83 (40:39) on the sixth day of BBL’s game, Ulm already claimed their fifth defeat at the EWE Baskets Oldenburg with 83:94 (36:50).

Devon Booker broke seconds ahead of the final whistle to ensure Bayern’s success in Bremen. In Oldenburg, 26 points from the New Zealander Isaac Fotu were not enough for Ulm to win the second season.

Alba had already replaced the previous leader of the standings, s. Oliver Würzburg, on Saturday. The former serial champion from the capital city won against rising star Rockets Erfurt with 95:61 (41:36). Würzburg had to admit defeat for the first time this season, the Franconians lost to the basketball lions Braunschweig 71:73 (34:34).

Alba leads the table with 12:2 points ahead of Würzburg and Bavaria (both 10:2). On Sunday evening there will also be a chasing duel between the Frankfurt Skyline and medi Bayreuth.

Meanwhile, the clear 74:91 (32:50) at the MHP Giant Ludwigsburg was the second defeat of the season. With 6:4 points Bamberg continues to follow its own standards.
