BBL: Bamberg also loses top game against Alba Berlin
Brose Bamberg simply doesn’t get going at BBL. The Upper Franconians lost to Alba Berlin at home with 75:77 (42:33) in the top game. While the capital club regained the lead of the standings, Bamberg’s third defeat in the sixth game of the season was Bamberg.
With a record of 6:6 points, the Bambergers, champions in seven of the past eight years, continue to be mediocre. Berlin (14:2) has already finished eight points more at the top, but also two more games.
Bamberg seemed to have initiated the trend with two victories in the EuroLeague this week. After a strong first half Bamberg ran out of steam after three games in five days. The best thrower in the championship was newcomer Dorell Wright with 18 points, Spencer Butterfield and Luke Sikma with 13 points in Alba.
The MHP giant Ludwigsburg made it to third place. The Swabians scored their fifth victory in the sixth game with the 78:64 (39:34) at Science City Jena.
