Ice hockey: Munich shortens distance to Nuremberg

The EHC Red Bull Munich has shortened the distance in the DEL to one point on championship leader Nuremberg Ice Tigers. The team of coach Don Jackson won the Augsburg Panthers 3-0 (1-0,1-0,1-0,1-0) and profited from the defeat of the front runner.

The Nuremberg team lost 0:1 (0:0,0:1,0:1,0:0:0:0) to Grizzly’s runner-up and still have 41 points on their account. Behind the top duo is DEL record holder Eisbären Berlin. The capital club, however, lost 2-3 (1-1,1-1,1-0-1) to Iserlohn Roosters for the second consecutive defeat. The team of Uwe Krupp has 36 points.

There were also successes on Friday for the Adler Mannheim and the Schwenninger Wild Wings. The Mannheim team won 1-0 (0-0,1-0,0-0,0-0) at the ERC Ingolstadt, Schwenningen won 3-1 (1-1,0-0,2-0) at the Düsseldorf EC.
