Ice hockey: CHL: Eagle defender Larkin suspended four games after a bad check
Defender Thomas Larkin of Adlern Mannheim has been banned from the Champions Hockey League one day after the end for a nasty check. The Italian national hockey team will have to watch the competition four times in the coming season. This was announced by CHL on Wednesday.
Larkin (26) had taken Daniel Paille to the floor in the last minute of the second round of the second round at Brynäs IF (1:2), but the Mannheim side’s defeat in the first leg (2:3) had long since been sealed.
The former NHL striker Paille was unable to continue:”This was a murder attempt,”said Stefan Bengtzen, head of Brynäs’s sports department, to the daily Aftonbladet.
Nikolai Goc, who, like Larkin, had been fined for playing in a disciplinary way, was banned from playing. Coach Sean Simpson, who is also responsible for the hard work of his pros, also has to watch the CHL once in a while. The accusation is “lack of control over the bank”.
