Handball: Women’s World Cup: Next victory for Serbia – First success for the Netherlands

Serbia remains on course for success in the Women’s Handball World Championship. The vice-world champion of 2013 defeated Cameroon 34:21 (20:9) and leads the German group D with 4:0 points. Serbia, which had declassified China (43-23) at the start, will be Germany’s third opponent on Tuesday.

Vice World Champion Netherlands meanwhile scored his first two points. One day after the surprising bankruptcy against South Korea, Oranje easily defeated the Chinese in front of 4381 spectators in Leipzig 40:15 (20:9). Olympic champion Russia celebrated their second victory against Montenegro in Group C in 28:24 (15:12) against Montenegro, while France, the co-favorite, won 26:19 (11:10) against Angola after the unsuccessful start of the tournament.

Romania kept their white vest on day two. The third of the last World Championships won in Group A against Slovenia 31:28 (14:14). Meanwhile, Czech Republic won their second Group B victory against Poland in a strong second half at 29:25 (12:15) against Poland. Brazil, 2013 World Champion, beat Tunisia in Group C with a narrow 23:22 (10:13).

Meanwhile, Germany won against South Korea in the evening with 23:18.
