Ski alpin: Ski-Youngster Burkhart dies after training crash in Canada

The 17-year-old skier Max Burkhart died one day after a severe training fall. The death of the youngster from SC Partenkirchen was confirmed on Wednesday by the Canadian Alpine Canada Ski Association.
Burkhart had fallen during downhill training at Lake Louise, and he later died from injuries in the Calgary hospital.
“That’s so tragic, words are missing. My thoughts are with his family,”the former coach of the Canadian World Cup team, Max Gartner, said on Twitter.
Burkhart’s death shocks the alpine scene only a few weeks after the drama about the Frenchman David Poisson. In mid-November, the former World Cup third was killed in a crash in the training of the downhill team in the Canadian skiing region of Nakiska in the province of Alberta.
