Ski Alpin: Feller drops out with knee injury

The Tyrolean Manuel Feller has to give up competing in the parallel giant slalom of Alta Badia. According to an investigation in Innsbruck on Sunday, the 25-year-old had contracted a capsule strain in his left knee during the first giant slalom run. Feller’s start on Friday at the World Cup slalom in Madonna di Campiglio is also questionable.

Marcel Hirscher will meet Thibaut Favrot on Monday in parallel RTL (from 6:30 p. m. in the SPOX-LIVETICKER) in round one. The Frenchman was featured on Sunday on RTL 24. The winner will face Manfred Mölgg (ITA) or Kjetil Jansrud (NOR) in the round of sixteen. After that it could be a duel with Ted Ligety (USA).

Roland Leitinger and Matthias Mayer compete in an Austrian first-round duel in the 32s grid, Stefan Brennsteiner gets it to do with the Slovenian Sunday third Zan Kranjec.
