BBL: Alba Berlin shortens distance to Bayern Munich
Former series champion Alba Berlin has shortened the gap to front runner Bayern Munich for the time being.
In their last game of the year, the capitals celebrated an 88:81 (52:40) win against the basketball lions Braunschweig and are in second place with 24:8 points. Munich has 28:2 points, but can extend the lead against ratiopharm Ulm on Saturday.
The Frankfurt Skylineers, which were so strong in December, suffered a defeat at the end of the year. After four victories from the last five games, the Hessians lost at s. Oliver Würzburg with 64:81 (30:35).
The Telekom Baskets Bonn took advantage of this, who were only slightly behind the sixth-placed Frankfurt (20:12) after an unnecessarily tight 83:78 (52:40) against the Giessen 46ers in eighth place (18:12).
In Berlin, the guests from Braunschweig had little to contend with in the beginning and were already down 15 points in the first quarter.
Only in the last section Braunschweig was once again dangerous. Braunschweig’s Scott Eatherton was the best thrower of the game with 22 points, while Peyton Siva and Marius Grigonis were the most successful with 15 points each for Berlin.
