DEL: Munich at the top – polar bears go down
Master Red Bull Munich is back on top in the DEL. Coach Don Jackson’s team won on the 41st. 1:1 (1:1,1:0,0:0) at the Schwenninger Wild Wings and replaced the former leader Nuremberg Ice Tigers (82) with 86 points. The Franconians had to admit defeat to the Augsburg Panthers at home 1:2 (1:1,0:0,0:1).
The Eisbären Berlin suffered a sensitive 0:5 (0:1,0:2,0:2,0:2) defeat at the ERC Ingolstadt and remain third with 82 points. However, the lead to fourth place is still a reassuring 16 points.
The farewell tour of Pavel Gross began disappointingly. With Grizzly’s Wolfsburg, the coach, who will be going to league rival Adler Mannheim next season, lost 1-3 (1-0,0-1,0-2) to Fischtown Pinguins in Bremerhaven. The change of the native Czech was announced during the week.
