NBA: Hood has to pay a fine after mobile phone scandal
Rodney Hood of Utah Jazz has to pay a fine of $35,000. This was announced by the League in a statement. The Guard had knocked the smartphone out of a fan’s hand after his injection.
Hood had taken his second technical foul about two minutes before the end of the game against the Washington Wizards, which led to his expulsion. The Jazz won the game with 107:104. The fan was about to take a picture of Hood when he took it out of his hand.
“I apologized to him,” Hood told the press.”I didn’t mean to, but I regret it. Hood is the fourth player to have been fined this season for fighting a quarrel with a fan. Previously, DeMarcus cousins, Kyrie Irving and Austin Rivers had to pay $25,000 each.
Hood is a career high this season with 16.5 points per game. Nevertheless, the Utah Jazz have to fight. After the defeat against Charlotte Hornets, Utah has a record of 17-25. The gap to the playoff places is quite big.
