Basketball: EuroCup: Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals

Bayern Munich has reached the quarter-finals in the basketball EuroCup as group winner. On the fifth matchday of the top 16 round, the Bundesliga leader beat Fiat Turin 107:81 (44:41) in front of 5235 spectators.

The Bayern lead the Group F table with four victories and one defeat ahead of Zenit St. Petersburg (3:2). Munich has won the direct comparison with the Russians.

As in the first leg (76:90) coach Sasa Djordjevic’s team had a hard time against the Italians at first. But this time Munich had a better end for itself. First and foremost in the third quarter (37:14) there was a difference in quality. The best marksman of the Munich team was international Danilo Barthel with 21 points.

The former series champion Alba Berlin had prematurely retired from the EuroCup on Tuesday.
