DEL: Berlin misses jump to second place – Ingolstadt knocks down Iserlohn
DEL-record champion Eisbären Berlin missed the jump to second place in the DEL. In front of 10,329 spectators in the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Augsburg, the capitals lost 2:3 (0:0,1:1,1:2) to the Augsburg Panthers and remain in third place with 89 points. In the direct duel for the other play-off places, the ERC Ingolstadt won against Iserlohn Roosters 3-2 (1-0,1-2,1-0).
“Augsburg played a good game and deservedly won in the end. We just didn’t get our performance today and we weren’t there at all,”said polar bear striker Marcel Noebels at Telekom Sport.
Augsburg, for whom Jaroslav Hafenrichter (54th) scored the winning goal, can look forward to further hopes for the pre-play-offs with his away win. The Bavarian Swabians passed the Duesseldorf EC and are now eleventh with 63 points. The backlog to the tenth and last pre-play-off place occupied by Adler Mannheim is four points for the remaining four games in the main round.
John Laliberte (54) scored the decisive goal for Ingolstadt. The Schanzer moved past Schwenningen to eighth place with 70 points. Iserlohn (71) remains seventh and is level on points with the sixth Wolfsburg.
