NHL: Goals and victories for Vanek and Grabner
Thomas Vanek and Michael Grabner celebrated double successes in the North American ice hockey league NHL on Sunday. Both scored one goal each in their team’s victories. Vanek declassified the Dallas Stars 6-0 with the Vancouver Canucks, Grabner and the New York Rangers defeated the Winnipeg Jets 3-1.
In Winnipeg, the Rangers secured victory in the final phase with goals from Jimmy Vesey (56) and Grabner (60). Grabner scored 43 seconds in front of the final whistle for a 3-1 victory. With 23 goals, the 30-year-old Villacher is Rangers’ top scorer, and with seven emtpy-net goals this season, he is clearly number one in the league. Grabner has scored a total of 20 goals in the NHL so far, with only 19 players in front of him. Like so many offensive statistics, Wayne Gretzky leads with 56 “empty-net-goals”.
In Dallas, the Canucks finished their negative run of last four defeats in an impressive manner. Vanek scored in the 14th minute. The goal to the 3:0. The 34-year-old is the second best scorer in his team, holding on to 16 goals of the season.
Sidney Crosby, Superstar of titleholder Pittsburgh Penguins, won 4-1 at the St. Gustavia’s St. Paul’s Cup. Louis Blues reached a milestone. Crosby, who met twice, scored his 400th. Door in NHL basic pass. He’s 95. A player in the 100-year history of NHL who has reached this mark.
