Basketball: EuroLeague: FC Bayern to receive wildcard from 2019

FC Bayern Basketball will each receive a wildcard for two years in the EuroLeague from the 2019/2020 season. This was announced by the organizers ECA on Thursday after an executive meeting.

From the 2019/2020 season, the number of participants at EuroLeauge will be increased by two teams to 18 participants, with Germany and France being the preferred markets.

In Germany the wildcard goes to the German cup winner for two years, in France ASVEL Villeurbanne is the favourite.

EuroLeague CEO Jordi Bertomeu also announced that the average number of viewers in the league has increased by 4.4 percent to an average of 8,462 viewers. In the regular season, this meant a load factor of 75.8 percent.
