Alpine Skiing: Neureuther is back on skis after a four-month injury break

Felix Neureuther can ski carefully again after his cruciate ligament rupture.

22 weeks after his severe knee injury, Germany’s best alpine rider posted a 30-second video of himself on Monday, showing him in a tourist outfit while carving lightly. The 34-year-old wrote: “After 4 months of hard work, it feels incredible to be back on skis!

According to the German Ski Association, the video was made at the weekend in Sölden, when Neureuther supervised his ski camp for young skiers. Except for the short flat part he did not drive any more.

Neureuther tore his cruciate ligament in December 2017 and missed much of the season and the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang. For the new season, which starts in October in Sölden, Neureuther wants to be completely healthy and resilient again.
