Antetokounmpo towers above with NBA record

Giannis Antetokounmpo provided a statistical highlight in the NBA

Giannis Antetokounmpo, currently the most valuable basketball player in the NBA, has once again proven his top class and provided an extremely rare statistical highlight.

In the 93-85 win of his Milwaukee Bucks against the Charlotte Hornets, the Greek scored 41 points, rebounded 20 times and gave six assists. He has never had a 40/20/5 game in his career before – now against the Hornets, he needed just 35 minutes, less than any other NBA pro before him for such a superb haul, according to ESPN.

As the US sports channel reported, Antetokounmpo is also only the third player in the last 30 seasons in the American professional basketball league to have scored so many points, rebounds and assists in a single game. Last season, Antetokounmpo became the second European after Dirk Nowitzki to be awarded MVP – as the most valuable player of the season.

For the Bucks, the success was their sixth win in a row, the team leads the Eastern Conference and has already secured their place in the playoffs.

The Washington Wizards around the two German internationals Moritz Wagner and Isaac Bonga, on the other hand, still have to fight for it. Against the formerly dominant Golden State Warriors, who again played without the long injured Steph Curry, there was a 124-110 win on Sunday.

Bonga came up with 21 minutes of play and six points. Wagner brought a rebound in his eleven minutes and gave two assists.
