Alpine Skiing: Hirscher competes in these races at the World Cup Final

The big crystal ball for the overall World Cup is in Marcel Hirscher’s pocket as well as the small crystal ball for the slalom and giant slalom world cup. However, the season is not yet over for the Salzburg team, as the World Cup final in Aare is still on the agenda.

But before it’s time, the last pure speed weekend is scheduled for this week in Kvitfjell, Norway. While Hirscher will not be at the start in Norway, the following week he will once again fasten his speed skis at the World Cup final.

Hirscher, however, will not travel to Aare until next Wednesday and will therefore abstain from downhill training. The 29-year-old, however, wants to start in Sweden in Super-G in addition to his special disciplines.

After the training sessions on Monday and Tuesday, the departure is scheduled for Wednesday, the Super-G and Hirscher’s first appearance at the 2019 World Cup venue will follow on Thursday. This winter, the Salzburg man only competed in technical competitions in the World Cup, but he also competed in the combined Winter Games in South Korea and became Olympic champion as in the giant slalom. He contested his last Super-G at the World Cup Final a year ago in Aspen (11th).
