Ski Alpin: power outage: women’s downhill run threatens to be cancelled

The Lake Louise Resort in Canada is affected by a complete power cut on Saturday, a few hours before the women’s World Cup departure.

The lifts have been closed for the whole day, according to the cable car operators. The race is endangered, but the organizers are looking for alternatives to bring the runners and coaches to the start. The reason for the problems is said to be a tree that has fallen onto a power line.

According to information from the World Ski Federation (FIS), the new start time for the women’s downhill has been set at 9.30 p. m. CET (local time 1.30 p. m.). That means a delay of one hour. For the tour, the athletes will now be brought to the Super-G start of the men’s race with snowmobiles.
