Two places and many short comebacks: RAW celebrated its 25th anniversary. Birthday with big names and lots of action. However, the undertaker left some questions unanswered at his performance – and probably made the fans shout for the first time.
The 25th. On the occasion of RAW’s 50th birthday, RAW wanted to offer its fans a special night. Accordingly, Stephanie and Shane McMahon briefly presented their quarrels and introduced their father to the Barclays Center in New York City.
They presented Vince McMahon with a platinum record to celebrate the day, and he explained that he had nothing but thanks. Thereupon the music of Stone Cold sounded, who marched to the ring. Vince was still trying to de-escalate the situation, but already knew what the encounter was about.
Stone Cold shook Shane’s hand before giving McMahon’s son a stunner. When Vince gave him a beer and embraced his longtime rival, he also had to put up with a stunner.
With the Royal Rumble on Sunday and the women’s first rumble match, WWE also took part in the 25. You can’t take a foretaste of your birthday. Asuka’s team won against Fox with Banks’ bank statement.
Afterwards, Asuka made her ambitions for the upcoming PPV clear and gradually threw her three team-mates out of the ring.
From the Barclays Center, RAW’s anniversary celebrations were broadcast to the Manhattan Center. He briefly talked about his past dominance in the WWE, but did not make a final statement on the further course of his career.
Immediately after his speech, some of the buzz was mixed with applause and the “One More Match”-calls, and the mood in the Manhattan Center turned negative later on in the evening. The fans booed the event and gave vent to their disappointment.
Back at the Barclays Center, there was more action on the agenda. The Miz defeated the Big Dog with the help of Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel and won the title as Intercontinental Champion. In his jubilation, he was watched by the WWE legends William Regal and John Laurinaitis.
In front of the Royal Rumble Jordan and Rollins talked about defending their title. Jordan was hooted loudly before Cesaro and Sheamus came to the ring. Rollins accidentally took out Jordan.
In a poker match on the occasion of the 25. On the occasion of his 50th birthday, Slater cheated on his rivals JBL, The Million Dollar Man, Rhyno, Ron Simmons, Jeff Hardy, Bubba Ray Dudley, D-Von Dudley, Titus O’ Neil, Apollo Crews, Dana Brooke, MVP, The Usos and The New Day.
When Brooke discovered that Slater drew cards under the table, JBL suggested a match: Slater with partner Rhyno versus Titus Worldwide. However, the match was quickly interrupted by the Dudley Boyz, who cleared the ring and moved Slater through a table.
The Balor Club, D-Generation X and Scott Hall chatted in the ring as Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson interfered. Triple H quickly ordered a match between the two NXT champions against Anderson and Gallows, resulting in a crushing defeat for The Revival.
Afterwards, the Balor Club and D-Generation X fraternized after Dawson Hall had attacked. He had to take an X-Factor, Shake, Rattle as well as Roll and Famouser. His partner got a Sweet Chin Music, a pedigree and a Coup de Grace.
At the end of the show from New York, Kane, Strowman and Lesnar met in the ring. Six days before their triple-threat match at the Royal Rumble, the three heavyweights crashed. Various superstars and legends surround the ring, creating an interesting picture.
After Lesnar threw both opponents out of the ring and knocked out Kane with an F5, it was Strowman again in the end, who went out of the show as the winner. He rammed Lesnar through the commentator’s desk, bringing the events in the Barclays Center to a close.
In the legendary Manhatten Center, however, things remained quiet. After the Undertaker’s appearance, various WWE superstars visited the Barclays Center after their matches and were celebrated. The fans were disappointed by the short performances.
D-Generation X and the Balor Club, for example, celebrated briefly in the ring, let the enema music continue and left the ring after a few seconds. Videos on Twitter show “Bullshit!”calls from fans after tickets worth more than $400 were sold.
Even the few matches were disappointing. Lince Dorado against Mustafa Ali, for example, ended in less than two minutes as No Contest. During the broadcast, it was briefly shown how the commentators Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler fell asleep at the desk.
