MLB: Astros-Star donates one million dollars to hurricane victims
Carlos Beltran of the Houston Astros will donate one million dollars to the hurricane victims on Puerto Rico.This was explained by the 40-year-old Slugger, who was born in Manati on Puerto Rico himself, on Friday.The island was badly hit by Hurricane Maria about a week ago, and wide stretches of land have been devastated.

“Right now our country is suffering from the destruction of two hurricanes in a row.I just want to help as much as I can,”Beltran said after the 3-0 defeat of the Astros against the Angels,” I feel that something needs to be done, and the donation of a million dollars from Beltran and his wife Jessica is just the first part of a fund-raising campaign.
In a video on CrowdRise, Beltran said that large parts of the island still had to get by without electricity, and added:”My family and I are not only in our prayers with you, but also wanting to help rebuild our beautiful country,” Beltran said in 16 hours over $26,000 has already been donated.
Beltran is not the only one who stands up for Puerto Rico.Cacher Yadier Molina of the St. Peter’s ChurchLouis Cardinals, together with his wife Wanda, has set up a GoFundMe page:”Everybody is affected,”he said on Thursday,”There is no electricity, no food, no water.It is a difficult situation, they were badly hit and need help:” In one day around 68,000 dollars were collected.
