NBA: Knee injury: Westbrook misses training start
Russell Westbrook will miss the Oklahoma City Thunder at the start of the training camp due to injury. The incumbent MVP had his knee injury treated with an injection of platelet-rich autologous blood (PRP) and now has to pause for a few days. However, General Manager Sam Presti has already given the all-clear.
Although Westbrook will miss the first days of training, the injury is “nothing serious,”said Presti ESPN’s Royce Young.
If the 28-year-old were to retire, newcomer Raymond Felton and last year’s disappointing Semaj Christon would have to assume responsibility for the point guard position. However, according to the current state of play, the use of Westbrook at the start of the season in mid-October does not appear to be in danger.
The MVP had led the Oklahoma City Thunder 2016/17 into the playoffs and published historical figures. With 31.6 points, 10.7 rebounds and 10.4 assists, he achieved an average triple double.
