Basketball: All information about the BBL Season 2017/2018

The first matchday of the Basketball Bundesliga starts on 29.September with the opening match of the master Brose Baskets Bamberg against s. Oliver Würzburg.

Telekom will broadcast all BBL games live for the first time.For Telekom customers who have the EntertainTV package, it’s even free of charge.Basketball fans, however, have the possibility to book a yearly subscription for 9,95 Euro per month for BBL.The TV channel Sport 1 also broadcasts up to 48 matches of the season live on free TV.There are 34 games of the main round and 14 matches of the playoffs planned.

The Central German BC and the Oettinger Rockets made it into the BBL last season.The Rockets shot a rousing series against the Niners and made their first ascent into the BBL.The MBC achieved its “Mission Rise” with the first attempt.

The BBL’s main round consists of 34 rounds.The first eight teams qualify for the playoffs and compete in the “Best of five” mode in the quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals.In the quarter-finals, the first of the main round will meet the eighth in the main round, the second in the seventh, the third in the sixth, etc.

The winner of the finals is directly qualified for the Euroleague.The runners-up has to go through the Euroleague qualifying round.According to the available seats, the teams will be registered for the European Cup in the following places.
