NBA: MJ:”Long tradition of peaceful protest”

US President Donald Trump has recently fought with prominent US athletes from the NBA and NFL.Now Michael Jordan, a legend of Bulls, has also commented on the subject and called for action to counteract the division and hatred.

“One of the fundamental rights on which this country is based is freedom of speech. And we have a long tradition of non-violent, peaceful protest,”Jordan told the Charlotte Observer.

The six-time champion and current owner of the Charlotte Hornets showed no sympathy for Trump. The U. S. President had uninvited Stephen Curry of Master Golden State Warriors from the White House this weekend after he had announced that he did not want to accept the obligatory invitation.LeBron James had also called himself a “bum” and called Trump via Twitter.

Football fans recently called on Trump to boycott NFL games as long as the protests of the players continue during the American anthem. He had called such players “sons of bitches”.

“Those who use the right to express themselves peacefully must not be demonised or ostracised,”said Michael Jordan:”At a time of increasing division and hatred, we should seek ways to work together and support each other instead of dividing ourselves even more”.
