NBA: Green on the renunciation of protest:”Said it all.”
While the Denver Nuggets crossed their arms in the national anthem, the Golden State Warriors showed no protest. For Draymond Green, this was not even necessary as everything has already been said.
“We’ve already said what we had to say,”Green told ESPN.”Everybody knows our position.Andre Iguodala also agreed.” I think we’ve done enough.I believe our voices have been heard.”
Prior to the pre-season, the league sent out a memo saying that the 30 teams should abide by the rules that the players stand during the national anthem. The other three teams, which were in action on the first day, hooked up with each other. The Warriors renounced that.
“The rule has been around for so long, it doesn’t prevent anything. It is a rule, such as the doping test.We should stick to that,”Iggy explained.
The Warriors had already explained that they were not going to visit the White House.President Donald Trump then expressed his displeasure at Twitter and withdrew the invitation.
