There was still a lot of rust to be seen among the Warriors.Only four of the 33 litters of Downtown found their target. That’s just 12.1 percent. However, this was not only due to the 18 players involved.Draymond Green (0/5 threesome), Kevin Durant (0/5) and Stephen Curry (1/7) all had no rhythm.
Curry was the top scorer of the Dubs in a tight game with 11 points and played together with KD (10) for most of the minutes.Rookie Jordan Bell got 10 minutes of duty time and used it for 4 points.Nick Young also made his debut, but like the whole team, he didn’t score much (2/7 FG).His first basket for the champion was significant – a strongly defended threesome.Swaggy P is known to be self-confident.
It was Paul Millsap who won the nuggets and with 22 points (7/11 FG) and 11 rebounds his colours led him to his first victory. In the third quarter alone, when Denver was able to break away for the first time, Dennis Schröder’s former team-mate scored 16 points. In addition to Millsap, Emmanuel Mudiay convinced as Sixth Man with 19 points (6/10 FG) and 6 assists.
In the Starting Five, on the other hand, there was Sophomore Jamal Murray, who was able to sink all three of his threes.Nikola Jokic took it easy in 21 minutes (12 points, 6 rebounds), his backup Mason Plumlee scored double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.Kenneth Faried, who said during the week that he was not a player for the bank, was not used.
“This is what you dream of as a child. The words come from Lonzo Ball, who made his debut in the Lakers-Jersey (and BBB shoes) and he said:” It’s true.Coach Luke Walton left the playmaker off the lead for 36 minutes, even if the throw didn’t want to fall yet (2/9 FG).At the end there were 5 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists.
Another rookie stole the show from his colleague.Kyle Kuzma (#27), who caused a stir in the Summer League, scored a total of 19 points (9/12 FG).Brandon Ingram also scored 10 points, but needed 15 throws.Julius Randle contributed 15 points.
But this was not enough against the much improved Wolves team.Jimmy Butler played only 12 minutes and scored 10 points, Jeff Teague scratched a double double (11 points, 9 rebounds) and was one of the reasons why the Timberwolves won a 20-point lead in the third quarter.
When the Lakers came a little closer, the hour of Shabazz Muhammad, who only a few weeks ago stayed in Minnesota for the minimum and lost several kilos in the summer, beat. 10 of his 22 points (7/12 FG) went on the forward in the final section and secured Wolves’ victory.”In practice, he always played like that. It’s nice that he was now able to put it into practice in the game.”
