NHL: All information about the NHL Season 2017/2018

The regular season of the National Hockey League begins on April 04.October 2017 with the game Winnepeg Jets against Toronto Maple Leafs, and ends on 07.April 2018.The season 2017/2018 is the 100th season.Season in which a match is played.

The Stanley Cup is the cup that the champion of a NHL season receives.It is the world’s oldest trophy, which is awarded annually to a sports club.The Stanley Cup is named after Lord Frederick Arthur Stanley, who first presented the trophy to the Montreal Hockey Club in 1893 as Governor General of Canada.

The name of the NHL champion of each season is engraved on the trophy, which is why the Stanley Cup continues to grow in size.It is made of an alloy of silver and nickel, and is currently 89.54 centimetres high and weighs 15.5 kilos.

The NHL finals traditionally take place in June.As mentioned above, the postseason schedule has not yet been fixed, but the Stanley Cup winner is certain to be determined at the beginning of June 2018.

Adidas has been the exclusive supplier of NHL teams since this season.Reebok has been replaced as a long-time supplier.As part of the deal, the third jerseys of the teams were also abolished, so each franchise has only one home and away kit left.

Again this season there will be an open-air game in the NHL.The New York Rangers will receive on 01.January 2018 in the Citi Field of the New York Mets the Buffalo Sabres to the Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic 2018.
