NHL: Strong Vegas Debut – Solidarity after Massacre
Five days after the devastating attack, the Vegas Golden Knights made a successful debut in the NHL.Two striker James Neal’s striker’s two goals won the 31st round.Team of the league 2:1 at the Dallas Stars.The massacre of Sunday evening in Las Vegas was, however, also the dominant theme in Texas.
Before the start of the game, the Dallas players stood behind the national anthem’s players from paradise, expressing their solidarity with Las Vegas.
“The fact that they have stood behind us shows us that they are a great organization and great people,”said a grateful Vegas coach Gerard Gallant.The shooting had killed 58 people and more than 500 others were injured.
After a 1-0 backlog, former star player Neal scored his first goal in the Golden Knights team history 9’33 “It’s great for the franchise that we won our first game.I hope it helps a little to heal the wounds of this terrible event,”Gallant continued.
The New York Islanders came under the wheels of the Columbus Blue Jackets with Thomas Greiss and Dennis Seidenberg 0:5.
Greiss scored from the start, but was replaced by Jaroslav Halak from Slovakia after the fifth goal.
