Golf: US Tour: Steele wins start of US Tour

As last year, Brendan Steele won the season opener of the US Tour.The 34-year-old triumphed on Sunday in the $6.2 million competition in Napa, California with 273 strokes ahead of his compatriots Tom Finau (275) and Phil Mickelson and Chesson Hadley (both 276).

Steele collected a cheque for his third overall tour win for a total of 1.116 million dollars, about 950,000 euros.

Stephan Jäger from Munich finished 30th with 283 strokes.Alex Cejka (Munich) missed the cut by six strokes after two rounds.
