MLB: Dodgers have to renounce Seager against Cubs
The Los Angeles Dodgers will contest the National League Championship Series without Corey Seager.Due to back problems, the Shortstop is not part of the line-up of the best regular season team with 104 victories.
Already on Thursday and Friday Seager did not train in the official team workouts at the Dodger Stadium. The justification was then already in the back.According to Dodgers manager Dave Roberts, Seager suffered the injury on a slide into third base in NLDS match 3 against Arizona Diamondbacks.
Still on Friday, however, Roberts assumed that Seager would be fit in time:”I am very optimistic that he will be in lineup on Saturday.
For Seager, Infielder Charlie Culberson has been appointed to the squad for the Cubs series. However, it is still unclear who will take the place in the starting lineup.During the regular season Enrique Hernandez and Chris Taylor had the most starts after Seager as a shortstop. The latter, however, last started in the Center Field.
Match 1 of the series takes place on Sunday night at 2am (SPOX broadcasts the match in LIVESTREAM for FREE) at Dodger Stadium.
