NBA: Pop harshly criticizes Trump

Gregg Popovich of five-time champion San Antonio Spurs attacked President Donald Trump with a violent attack:”This man is a soulless coward,”Popovich said in an interview with US weekly The Nation.

“We have a pathological liar in the White House.Intellectually, emotionally and psychologically unfit for this office.The whole world knows,”said Popovich:”Anyone who works with him – or works for him – should be ashamed.”

The insulting tirade was prompted by Trump’s recent statements on the alleged treatment of his predecessors with family members of US soldiers who had fallen.Trump had claimed Barack Obama and George W.Bush had not contacted the relatives, or only rarely.Trump’s claim turned out to be false.In addition, Trump admitted that he had not yet spoken to the families of the US soldiers killed in Niger two weeks ago.

The relationship between politics and sport has deteriorated in Trump’s tenure.For weeks now, the president has been engaged in a feud with the NFL, where players have repeatedly protested against racism and discrimination during the national anthem.
