Ski Alpin: Next injury in the ÖSV team
Giant slalom specialist Philipp Schörghofer has to be reckoned with a new challenge for the World Cup season opener on 29.
Tuesday’s training on the Rettenbachferner had to be stopped by the 34-year-old,”I’m not feeling so well. The knee is still very painful,”said Schörghofer.
“Normal skiing and pole training is not possible. The giant slalom in Beaver Creek is now the Salzburger’s next goal:” Missing a home race is very painful. Now I have to get rid of the’ Bone Bruise’ as soon as possible so I can get back on the grid by early December.”
In addition to Schörghofer, Marcel Hirscher and Christian Hirschbühl also missed the start of the World Cup due to injury. The young ÖSV pros Daniel Meier and Clemens Nocker were already getting torn cruciate ligament tears in preparation.
