EuroLeague: Brose Bamberg also loses against Panathinaikos Athens
Brose Bamberg will not be able to compete in the EuroLeague. The Swiss franc also lost their second game of the main round with 83:93 (35:43) in the basement duel against Panathinaikos Athens. As a result, Bamberg complains against Maccabi Tel Aviv (71:88) about his weakest start in the continental elite competition since 2012, when even the first three games were lost.
Bamberg’s negative start record in the EuroLeague of defeats in the first five matches dates from 2007.
At the recent rejection in Athens Leon Radosevic and Ricky Hickman were Bamberg’s most successful casters in front of 8200 spectators with 19 points each. In coach Andrea Trinchieri’s team, who had already been victorious after two rounds in his three previous EuroLeague appearances after 2012, no other player was able to score a double-digit throw.
In its next EuroLeague match, Bamberg, the fourth-weakest team in the main round last season to have clearly missed the playoffs, will have to wait until Wednesday (25. The Spanish representative Unicaja Malaga will once again be on the road. Two days later Trinchieri’s team will receive Baskonia Vitoria Gasteiz for the second home game in another German-Spanish duel.
