MLB: Gerry Davis leads his sixth World Series as Umpire

The MLB has announced the Umpire for the World Series. Gerry Davis will act as crew chief and thus appear for the sixth time as an impartial in the Classic case. He’s setting a record.

The only other active Umpire that has played in the World Series six times is Joe West, who will be celebrating his 5000th birthday this season. I was leading the game.

Davis will be crew chief for the third time in the World Series and has already played 136 postseason games, which is also a record. His previous World Series deployments have been 1996,1999,2004,2009 and 2012. He has been active in the MLB for 34 years.

In Match 1 of the series (Wednesday, 2 o’ clock in the LIVESTREAM FOR FREE at SPOX) Phil Cuzzi is standing behind the record, while Paul Nauert occupies the first base, Davis the second, Laz Diaz the third. In the left field is Bill Miller and Dan Iassogna manning the right field.

Mark Wegner will be the replay overpass for the first two games at headquarters in New York City and will play in game 3 in Left Field. Cuzzi will then take over the rest of the series in New York. Tripp Gibson is the Replay Assistant for the series.
