NFL: Browns: Season’s Out for Joe Thomas
For the Cleveland Browns it’s already another chaotic year – and this suffered an additional bitter setback on Sunday: For offensive tackle Joe Thomas, the season is over due to injury.
As the team announced on Monday, the investigation revealed that Thomas has contracted a triceps tear. Cleveland promptly put the tackle on the Injured Reserve list, and according to NFL network insider Ian Rapoport, there is talk of a mandatory break of up to seven months.
Thomas himself explained on Monday that he wants to have an operation on Tuesday. The 32-year-old also openly addressed his thoughts on a possible career end:”Will I end now? I don’t know, sir. It’s still too early to make a decision.”
Over the past few years, Thomas has been in a rock-climbing, mostly desolate and constantly changing Browns team. The Left Tackle had set an incredible record by completing 10,363 consecutive snaps.
This series ended against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday and without Thomas Cleveland’s wild quarterback carousel will be even more difficult.
