Alpine Skiing: Start of the Alpine season: DSV with Rebensburg and Neureuther to Sölden

Olympic champion Viktoria Rebensburg and slalom ace Felix Neureuther lead the DSV’s line-up for the World Cup season opener in Sölden/Austria this weekend. The successful duo is at the top of an eight-man squad for the first races of the Olympic season.

On the Rettenbach glacier on Saturday (women, 10:00 in the LIVETICKER) and Sunday (men, 12:00 in the LIVETICKER) a giant slalom is driven.

Next to Neureuther, Stefan Luitz, Alexander Schmid and Linus Straßer will be competing. Fritz Dopfer is scheduled to enter the slalom in Levi/Finland in November after his tibia and fibula fracture. Benedikt Staubitzer and Manuel Schmid are also missing.

Rebensburg is accompanied by Patrizia Dorsch, Jessica Hilzinger and Maren Wiesler. Marlene Schmotz has to fit after a torn cruciate ligament last week.

“I’m happy to be able to start racing again,”said Neureuther, who was driving on 14. October had become father. His summer prep went well.
