NBA: Ball:”Defeat is on my head.”
The Los Angeles Lakers have already claimed the fourth bankruptcy of the Utah Jazz in their sixth game. After the match, Rookie Lonzo Ball confronted the media and took the defeat on his head.
“This defeat is on me,”said a crumpled ball after the Salt Lake City jazz match,”We just got back into the game, but then I made two stupid plays. That helped them,”concluded the Draft’s No. 2 pick.
Ball generally didn’t have a good evening. The Point Guard fought again with his throw (3/10 FG), but scored three of his six threesomes. 9 points, 2 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 turnovers were his statline in 36 minutes on the floor.
After the Lakers had fought their way back after a weak first quarter (16:31), it was the strong Donovan Mitchell who brought jazz back to life. Utah’s lead was only six points, but then the rookie provided momentum for jazz with a spectacular putback over ball. “That was my fault. It changed the whole game. I should have had to fight out and after that, I suffered a bad ball loss”, Ball summed up.
The turnover approached by Ball ended directly in Mitchell’s next threesome. The jazz led the middle of the third quarter with 75:64. The Lakers did not recover from it and lost 81:96.
