MLB: Ticket Revenue: $100 Million for Game 7

Tickets for the Game 7 (Monday, 1am live on DAZN) of the World Series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Houston Astros will be among the most expensive in the history of baseball. The average price for a seat in Dodger Stadium is $1,795 according to the StubHub ticket portal.

The prize is particularly remarkable because the Dodgers Stadium with 54,000 seats is the largest of all franchises. All in all, the Dodgers could only make 100 million dollars from ticket revenues.

But an unusual deal negotiated by the Dodgers with ticket partners could cause prices to fall until the first pitch. Secondary dealers have around 16,000 tickets for all Dodger games, more than any other team.

After a Game 7 was fixed, many new tickets were released. While a ticket for the last match of the season cost around $2,900 on Tuesday evening, prices dropped by a good 25% nine hours later.

Since the game also starts at Los Angeles’ rush hour, many fans would have to leave their workplaces and head for the stadium early on. Some Blue Crew supporters, who are known to be late for the game and to disappear relatively early, therefore do not visit the stadium.
