NFL: Cards: No comeback for Palmer and Johnson?
The Arizona Cardinals will presumably have to live without Carson Palmer and David Johnson for the rest of the season. After there was hope for a former comeback in the meantime, coach Bruce Arians now provided clarity.
On Tuesday, Arians announced that he was making comebacks of Johnson and also of Rookie-Running-Back T. J. Logan “currently in doubt”for the rest of the season. Both had injured their wrists and had to be operated on.
Palmer had broken his arm during the bankruptcy against the Rams in London and was also operated on, according to Arians it is a forced break of “eight to ten weeks”. The regular season is only nine weeks away.
As Managing Director Steve Keim explained on Tuesday morning at Arizona Sports 98.7 that the Palmer team wanted to be cautious:”We’re not going to put him at risk”, and it’s not to be ruled out that Palmer will end his career after the current season. The same applies to the Larry Fitzgerald all-pro receiver.
