NHL: Curious!
Curious transfer in the NHL! During the New York Islanders game, Avalanche-Topstar Matt Duchene was transferred to the Ottawa Senators in the first major trade of the season. The Olympic champion was still on the ice in the first third of the game, but was then ordered into the cabin when the deal was perfect. Kyle Turris landed with the Nashville Predators as part of the exchange deal between three teams. The Avalanche received above all perspective players.
Leon Draisaitl, on the other hand, is still not touring with his Edmonton Oilers in the NHL. Two days after the fourth win of the season, the German youngster and his team suffered another disillusioning defeat in a 4-0 defeat of the Detroit Red Wings. It is already the ninth defeat in the young season. The highly rated Oilers are currently the second-worst team in the entire league.
Goalkeeper Thomas Greiss and defender Dennis Seidenberg were better off with the New York Islanders. The Brooklyn-based team beat Colorado Avalanche 6-4 to underscore their overall good condition in the first few weeks of the season. Greiss scored 31 out of 35 shots on his goal in his sixth appearance. Seidenberg received over 22 minutes of ice age, but without a score point.
We were just not good enough,”said their captain Connor McDavid after the bankruptcy against the Red Wings in their own arena. Head coach Todd McLellan criticised the lack of speed in the game. Draisaitl only managed to score one shot on goal, but received most of the ice age of all Oilers strikers.
