NFL: Gordon: Alcohol and drugs before games

Josh Gordon ate alcohol and drugs before gambling. The Cleveland Browns Wide Receiver admitted this in an interview with the magazine GQ. Gordon explained that he made consumption a “ritual before every game”.

“We were in the hotel, and players were allowed to drive home and pick up what they needed for the game,” Gordon said about the usual schedule of a day’s play,”so I left the hotel early in the morning, went home, had breakfast and performed my ritual: a little grass, a little bit of alcohol.

Gordon confessed in the interview published on Monday that he had also been using drugs since his school days. He did this during college time and even before every game in the 2013 season, when he led the league in receiving yards.

“I think that from the day I was drafted I was a certain risk to them, and they were aware of that,”Gordon also commented on the Brown’s.”I’m sure they had their doubts. I missed meetings and I was often late.”

Gordon has meanwhile completed a long rehabilitation programme and explained in an interview that he has also changed. He is now allowed by the NFL to participate in team training “in compliance with clinical requirements”, according to a statement of the league.
