NBA: Bledsoe-Trade: Rather an end with terror…
The Milwaukee Bucks have secured Eric Bledsoe’s services via trade. What does the deal mean for the Bucks and the Greek freak? How do the Phoenix Suns cut off – and what happens to Greg Monroe? SPOX answers the most important questions.
After his almost legendary “I don’t wanna be here”-Tweet and the ensuing degradation, the posse around Eric Bledsoe finally came to an end on Tuesday: The Suns traded the Point Guard to the Milwaukee Bucks and closed a rather unfortunate chapter.
Big Man Greg Monroe and protected first and second round picks will be sent to Phoenix as a countervalue for Bledsoe. How good these picks will actually be depends largely on the performance of the bucks over the next few years.
The Suns will only receive the first round pick of the Bucks 2018 if it lands between positions 11 and 16. The following year, the pick would have to land between position 4 and 16, in 2020 between 8 and 30. If none of these scenarios were to occur, the pick would be completely unprotected in summer 2021.
The second round pick of the Bucks, which was also involved in the 2018 race, is now protected up to draft position 47. If he doesn’t go to Arizona this summer, he will stay in Milwaukee.
